"To measure is to know"

 Lord Kelvin

We live in a world of numbers and data. Numbers are one thing that is real and universally understood across all borders. We depend on numbers daily to help us know how we are doing and help us make decisions. In our daily lives we use numbers when we ask, "how many calories or grams should I eat?" "What is my blood pressure reading?" or "Which car has the most mpg?"

In the workplace, more and more organizations are finding that creating a performance measurement system will help them be more successful.

Performance measurement is a process for collecting and reporting information about the performance of an individual or organization. The measure is based on data collected and shows progress toward their objectives or goals.
